Purpose
Provision of the user account, authentication, assignment to an organisation, and management of access rights on the platform.
Legal Basis
Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) – registration is a prerequisite for using the platform as a provider.
Retention Period
Data is stored for the duration of account use and deleted without undue delay after the user account is deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
4. Contact Persons of Organisations

Retention Period
Data is stored as long as the organisation maintains the entry in the directory. After removal by the organisation or upon request by the data subject, the data is deleted without undue delay.
5. Single Sign-On (SSO) via DFN-AAI
Users from registered partner organisations can sign in with the account of their home organisation. The login takes place at the home organisation's Identity Provider; the data is transmitted to us via the OpenID Connect service of the DFN-AAI federation, operated by DFN-Verein (see Section 10).

The home organisation is used to verify that it is a registered partner organisation of the platform; the type of affiliation is used to verify that the user is an employee of that organisation, as the platform is intended for employees only.
Legal Basis
Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
Retention Period
Data transmitted by the Identity Provider is stored as described in Section 3.
6. Email Communication

Additionally, the chosen colour scheme preference (light/dark) is stored in the browser's localStorage. This setting contains no personal data and serves solely for display preferences.
8. Third-Party Services and External Resources
This website does not use any services or resources from third-party providers (e.g. Google Fonts, Google Analytics, third-party CDNs). All required resources (fonts, JavaScript libraries, stylesheets) are served from our own infrastructure. Therefore, no data is transmitted to third parties through visiting the website. The only exception is the event calendar on the training page, see Section 8b.
8a. Web Analytics (Umami – Self-Hosted)
We use the open-source analytics software Umami on this website, which we operate ourselves on our own server infrastructure. No data is transmitted to third parties.
Data Collected
Umami collects only:

Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in improving and tailoring our services. Since Umami operates without cookies and does not store personal data, consent under § 25 TDDDG is not required.
Right to Object
You may object to data collection at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided in Section 1. Additionally, you can enable the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser, which is respected by Umami.
8b. Event Calendar (Luma)
The training page can display the event calendar of Luma, a service of Luma Labs, Inc., USA. The calendar is loaded only after you click “Load calendar”; until then, no data is transmitted to Luma. No other page of this website loads content from Luma.
Data Collected
Once the calendar is loaded, your browser connects to Luma’s servers.
Luma thereby receives your IP address, the address of the page, and the
technical information your browser transmits. Luma sets the following
cookies: luma.did (device identifier, 120 days),
luma.first-page (first page visited, 120 days), and
__cf_bm (bot protection by Cloudflare, 30 minutes).
Luma’s calendar also uses the error-monitoring service Sentry.
Third-Country Transfer
The data may be processed in the USA. Luma Labs, Inc. is not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so there is no adequacy decision covering this transfer. The level of data protection in the USA is not equivalent to that of the EU; in particular, US authorities may be able to access the data without effective legal remedies for you.
If you register for an event, you do so directly with Luma; Luma’s privacy policy applies.
Legal Basis
Your consent, given by clicking “Load calendar” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG; for the transfer to the USA, Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). The consent applies to the current page view only; reloading the page shows the calendar unloaded again.

Retention Period
Server log files are automatically deleted after 30 days.
10. Disclosure of Data to Third Parties
Personal data is generally not transmitted to third parties, unless:
- this is necessary for the performance of the contract (e.g. hosting provider as a data processor),
- you have given express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), or
